ἐπὶ Φρυνίχου ἄρχοντος, ἐπὶ τῆς Λεωντίδος ἐν–άτης πρυτανείας, ἧι Χαιρέστρατος ἈμεινίουἈχαρνεὺς ἐγραμμάτευεν· τῶν προέδρων ἐπεψή–φιζεν Μενέστρατος Αἰξωνεύς· Εὐκράτης Ἀρισ–τοτίμου Πειραιεὺς εἶπεν· ἀγαθῆι τύχηι τοῦ δ–ήμου τοῦ Ἀθηναίων, δεδόχθαι τοῖς νομοθέται–ς· ἐάν τις ἐπαναστῆι τῶι δήμωι ἐπὶ τυραννίδιἢ τὴν τυραννίδα συνκαταστήσηι ἢ τὸν δῆμον τ–ὸν Ἀθηναίων ἢ τὴν δημοκρατίαν τὴν Ἀθήνησινκαταλύσηι, ὃς ἂν τὸν τούτων τι ποιήσαντα ἀπο–κ<τ>είνηι, ὅσιος ἔστω· μὴ ἐξεῖναι δὲ τῶν βουλευ–τῶν τῶν τῆς βουλῆς τῆς ἐξ Ἀρείου πάγου καταλ–ελυμένου τοῦ δήμου ἢ τῆς δημοκρατίας τῆς Ἀθ–ήνησιν ἀνιέναι εἰς Ἄρειον πάγον μηδὲ συνκα–θίζειν ἐν τῶι συνεδρίωι μηδὲ βουλεύειν μη–δὲ περὶ ἑνός· ἐὰν δέ τις τοῦ δήμου ἢ τῆς δημοκρ–ατίας καταλελυμένων τῶν Ἀθήνησιν ἀνίηι τῶ–ν βουλευτῶν τῶν ἐξ Ἀρείου πάγου εἰς Ἄρειον π–άγον ἢ συνκαθίζηι ἐν τῶι συνεδρίωι ἢ βολεύη–ι περί τινος, ἄτιμος ἔστω καὶ αὐτὸς καὶ γένοςτὸ ἐξ ἐκείνου καὶ ἡ οὐσία δημοσία ἔστω αὐτοῦκαὶ τῆς θεοῦ τὸ ἐπιδέκατον· ἀναγράψαι δὲ τόν–δε τὸν νόμον ἐν στήλαις λιθίναις δυοῖν τὸν γ–ραμματέα τῆς βουλῆς καὶ στῆσαι τὴμ μὲν ἐπὶ τ–ῆς εἰσόδου τῆς εἰς Ἄρειον πάγον τῆς εἰς τὸ βο–υλευτήριον εἰσιόντι, τὴν δὲ ἐν τῆι ἐκκλησία–ι· εἰς δὲ τὴν ἀναγραφὴν τῶν στηλῶν τὸν ταμίανδοῦναι τοῦ δήμου : ΔΔ : δραχμὰς ἐκ τῶν κατὰ ψη–φίσματα ἀναλισκομένων τῶι δήμωι. vac.

Aris-totimos aus (dem Demos) Peiraieus stellte den Antrag: zu Glück und Heil desVolkes der Athener, wollen beschließen die Nomotheten: dass,wenn jemand sich erhebt gegen das Volk erhebt für eine Tyrannisoder die Tyrannis miteinrichtet oder das Volkder Athener oder die Demokratie in Athenstürzt, wer den, der davon etwas tut, tötet,entsühnt sei; dass nicht erlaubt sei (einem) derRatsherren des Rates vom Areiopag, fallsgestürzt ist das Volk oder die Demokratie inAthen, weder hinaufzugehen auf den Areopag nochteilzunehmen an der Sitzung oder zu beraten,über keinen Gegenstand. Wenn aber, falls das Volk oder die Demo-kratie in Athen gestürzt sind, von den Ratsherrnvom Areopag hinaufgeht auf den Areopagoder teilnimmt an der Sitzung oder berätüber einen Gegenstand, soll er rechtlos sein, er selbst und seineNachkommenschaft, und seine Habe soll konfisziert seinund der Göttin der Zehnte zufallen; dass aufzeichne diesesGesetz auf zwei steinerne Stelen derSekretär des Rates und aufstelle die eine beidem Eingang zum Areopag, wo man in dasBouleuterion hineingeht, die andere in der Volksversammlung;dass für die Aufzeichnung auf den Stelen der Schatzmeisterdes Volkes 20 Drachmen gebe aus demDekret-Fonds des Volkes.

Of the presiding committeeMenestratos of Aixone was putting to the vote. Eukratesson of Aristotimos of Piraeus proposed: for the good fortune of theAthenian People, the lawmakers shall decide:if anyone rises up against the Peoplefor a tyranny or joins in establishing a tyranny or overthrowsthe Athenian People or the democracy at Athens,whoever kills anyone who does any of these thingsshall be without guilt; and it shall not be permitted for the councillorsof the Council of the Areopagos,if the People or the democracy at Athens have been overthrown,to go up to the Areopagos or to sitin session or to deliberate aboutanything; but if, when the People or the democracyhas been overthrown at Athens, anyof the councillors of the Areopagos go up to theAreopagos or sit in session or deliberateabout anything, he shall be deprived of citizen rights, both he and hisdescendants, and his estate shall be public property,and a tithe for the goddess; and the secretaryof the Council shall inscribe this law on twostone stelai and set up one at theentrance to the Areopagos as onegoes into the Council chamber, the other in the Assembly;and for inscribing the stelai the treasurer of the Peopleshall give 20 drachmas from thePeople’s fund for expenditure on decrees.
